“Research shows that healthy individuals and families support healthy work communities—and that healthy organizations and businesses foster the growth of thriving workplace environments, people, and teams. The downstream impact includes stronger retention, morale, collaboration, connection, and productivity.

Leaders and employers need innovative, meaningful well-being strategies to build long-term health across individuals, families, and organizations.”

We see you.

We see how deeply you care—not just about outcomes or productivity, but about the people behind the roles. You stay up at night thinking about your team—their stress, their exhaustion, their quiet struggles that too often go unseen. You notice the burnout in their eyes, the growing disconnection, the weight they carry. And still, you hold the hope that work can be different. That you can do right by your people.

Resiliency Rising provides trauma- and resiliency-informed workshops, consultation, and leadership support for mission-driven organizations. We help teams and leaders build nervous system awareness, psychological safety, and sustainable cultures of well-being—without burning out. At its core, our work is about creating spaces where resilence isn’t just possible—it’s essential, grounded in relationship, and fundamentally human. Through our three-phase model—Educate. Integrate. Elevate.—we offer a clear, practical framework and evidence-based tools that support lasting, embodied change.

Laurie Strand, LCSW – Owner & Lead Facilitator

Laurie Strand is a leader in resiliency & trauma-informed organizational wellness, known for bringing almost two decades of clinical expertise into boardrooms, workplaces, and leadership circles. As a licensed clinician and founder of Resiliency Rising, Laurie helps mission-driven organizations and heart-led teams build cultures where people feel seen, supported, and able to do their best work.
While her background is clinical, Laurie’s facilitation style is anything but. She brings warmth, curiosity, and deep respect to every space she enters. With a rare ability to translate complex nervous system science into clear, actionable strategies, Laurie helps teams regulate stress, reduce turnover, and create workplaces where people—and profits—can thrive. This isn’t therapy, but her clinical lens brings clarity, humanity, and a strong foundation for meaningful, lasting change.

Work With Resiliency Rising

We don’t offer one-off trainings—and here’s why:

Creating a resilient, trauma-informed workplace isn’t something that happens in a single afternoon. Our offerings are designed to support lasting, embodied change through a phased, relational approach that meets organizations where they are—and builds from the inside out.

Testimonials

As a front-line organization working with families and individuals in crisis, our team members sought training to help with self-regulation and tools to support clients during moments of stress and escalation. Laurie has conducted organizational CRM training, and her tools are regularly used by our staff. It is nice to have a common language among our team. Laurie is an extremely effective teacher who keeps the room engaged. She is organized and flexible and builds trust in the room easily.

-Naomi Spence, Co-Executive Director, The Hunger Coalition

We have found that key elements of any new program or approach we explore and seek to implement are applicability and accessibility. The Community Resilience Model is applicable- both broadly and specifically- to the work we do with students and teachers. It is also accessible, which is as much a reflection of the model as the facilitation and presentation of the model. Laurie does an exceptional job of presenting CRM and connecting people to it. She shows how CRM is valuable not by marketing it but by connecting people to its strengths. The organizational training and support have been important parts of making this successful.

– Harry Weekes, Headmaster, The Sage School

Laurie is an excellent presenter and the Community Resilience Model (CRM) workshop is beneficial for both individuals and teams. The CRM is designed to help individuals and groups increase their ability to cope with stress, trauma, and adversity. It’s a practical and accessible tool that can be used by non-profits, schools, and teams to improve their ability to support each other and those they serve. By using the CRM, our staff and students learned how to recognize their own and others’ stress responses, develop coping strategies, and build resilience. This helped create a culture of support and understanding within our organization.

– Gary Thompson, Leadership Coach and Collaborative Facilitator, Redfish | Bluefish, Inc

We worked with Laurie to train the staff of the Sun Valley Institute for Resilience. The training was thoughtful, informative and interactive. We have integrated the work into our team culture as well as our community work.

Laurie is a phenomenal trainer who brings in specific, applicable, and relatable stories and examples to enhance and deepen the learning of life-changing wellness skills. Laurie is incredibly organized, effective, and supports people to deeply understand and learn the basic science of the brain and nervous system as well as the skills. I always learn something new from Laurie and appreciate her depth of expertise she brings, not just as a teacher but as a social worker, therapist, and experience in organizational settings. Thank you so much, Laurie, for your incredible work and for sharing your expertise and knowledge.

– Kelly Purcell, Founder of Ground. Connect. Empower.

I had the great pleasure of hosting four CRM trainings throughout our region to different community groups and organizations. Whether the participants took the class for personal enrichment or as someone who works with others, each group has walked away with a valuable understanding of the biological responses to stress and trauma, as well as, an understanding of how to utilize the CRM skills to bring balance back to the body and mind. I regularly hear back from participants as to how they have been able to impactfully incorporate CRM skills into their daily lives.
