The Community Resiliency Model (CRM) – trains community members to help themselves and others within their wider social network. The goal of the CRM is to create “trauma-informed” and “resiliency-focused” communities that share a common understanding of the impact of trauma and chronic stress on the nervous system.Participants will learn to use strategies based on human biology and neuroscience, to create new neural pathways that strengthen the ability to cope when dealing with trauma, chronic stress, and/or bounce back faster from everyday normal stressors.

Day 1: An overview of the biological basis of the model, building a common language and understanding, and learning of the skills to use for oneself.

Day 2: CRM Guide workshop: Interactive and experiential learning focused on how to share and guide others using the CRM skills to support overall health and wellbeing. Day 2 will also include how to begin using the model during natural and human made disasters.
